Artist’s Statement

“Painting is an endlessly fascinating (and frustrating) way to untangle myself. I paint with curiosity; exploring emotion and life through colour and brushstroke, seeking to create compositions that simultaneously burst with joy while listening to the peaceful whispers of shadow. I look to nature for inspiration but look within for the work, the play, the love of it all. There’s a levity and liveliness to my paintings – a sense of wonder tinted with a sweep of humour. I admire the unusual, celebrate the weird, tread quietly and lightly in this world, and am leaving a bold, colourful trail of work behind.”

This lovely painting says so much without much fanfare - just doing its peaceful floral thing in its peaceful floral way - and would be just the sweetest touch to any room it finds a home in. Yes, the original is available! Maybe this is the one for you? ❤️

(have to add my promise that it's a thousand times more beautiful in person than this photo I took.)

At the end of the day, to have offered more flowers than I've stepped on. That is the goal ❤️🌼

For dozens of colourful and personal reasons (that seem to grow daily), I'm being drawn into the garden with my brushes again. Wondering what I'll find is just the beginning of my joy.

Starting the quiet process of saying goodbye to summer. Cool mornings, leaves dropping, petals fading .... so grateful I caught some of the gardens beauty in brushstrokes this year - paintings like this will keep me going all winter. 🖤
